Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog.
Princess was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. She is currently being treated for a skin condition which caused hair loss, with oral and topical medication and is responding very well. Princess is scheduled for her spay on the 16th of November, Princess is a delightful, sweet, attentive girl. She is a bit shy and timid with people, but is opening up more and more, eagerly greeting anyone who arrives at the house. She loves her scritches and will nudge and boop for more. She has integrated well into our little herd of both large and small dogs. She is a dominant girl, acting like the beautiful queen that she is, but there has been no signs of aggression. She is slowly learning to play with the youngest of the large dogs and they tussle and chase each other with abandon. She is good on a leash but appears to have no knowledge of simple commands. She truly enjoys being outside and will wander our large yard looking for all the sniffs. She is interested in the chickens, but has made no move to chase. Her muscle tone is terrible so we have started small and are working our way up to longer walks. She is very interested in the Pomeranian, but the Pom is teaching her to respect even the little dogs, a lesson she is learning very well. She has a good appetite and crates well. I would say she is low energy, happy with snoozing, hanging with her humans and dog buddies and going on walks. She is not food motivated and will not take a small treat from your hand. I believe Princess would thrive in a home with or without dogs. Careful introductions for small dogs necessary, and careful consideration of the personality of any other large dogs. A good yard where she can hang in the sun would be a plus.
