Maeve is a beautiful, sweet, and active young lady. Her distinctive look is the result of nearly fatal injuries sustained in an attack by a pack of dogs when she was a stray in TX. She lost all of one ear and part of the other, lost a toe, had a collapsed lung, and had deep wounds all over her body. Her prognosis was grim, but her will to live was incredible. After 3 months of treatment and recovery, she was well enough to travel to VA in mid December in search of her forever home. Despite what she's been through, Maeve is loving, trusting and affectionate to people and dogs. She loves to run and wrestle with dogs, and share toys with people. She also adores cats and is totally obsessed with them. She hasn't shown aggression towards the ones she's lived with since she was rescued, but we only recommend a home with cats if they're dog-savvy and enjoy being constantly pursued and licked. Maeve has one remaining tissue wound that is still healing, but otherwise she's healthy and strong. She pulls hard on leash and jumps on people to give kisses and love bites. We're starting to work on those behaviors, but Maeve will need continued training in her forever home, from a family with GSD or similar experience, to be her best self. She is so smart and eager to please that she is sure to learn quickly. Please consider opening your home to this gorgeous, happy, loving girl. She truly has a heart of gold and endless love to share.
