Fleur was rescued after she was hit by a car in Texas. She suffered a broken leg and trauma to her right eye. Since she was rescued she has had surgery to remove her eye and fix her broken leg. She did well with her surgery, has her cast off now and is doing great. Her energy level has picked up and she is showing her true self and is an amazing dog. She likes all people she meets, she likes cats and some other dogs. She is housebroken and crate trained. She loves being near her people and showing affection. She arrived in Virginia on July 11th. She is heartworm positive and will be treated by SSR for this. She can be adopted while undergoing treatment. She scheduled for her first treatment on September 8th. Fleur's Texas foster says “She has been very good about her crate rest with no anxiety about being in the crate. She is very respectful of my cat. She hasn't growled or barked at him, and she will go out of her way to avoid him when he has the zoomies. Losing her eye hasn't slowed her down at all. She is getting sassy and tells me all the time that she is "Fleur the Fierce". She is a joy to foster and makes me smile everyday at her progress.” Fleur's Virginia foster says all the same things. She's very cautious of the resident dog, but with a slow introduction I am confident that will resolve itself. She is a joy to have and just wants to be loved.
