Poppy was transferred from a partner rescue in Texas. She was tested with cats and was fine with them (see her video). She arrived to her foster in Virginia on May 29th. Check back soon as her foster learns more about her.
Update- 5/30/2020-Poppy arrived late last night and she is a serious sweetheart, she immediately began rubbing against my legs. I gave her a bath this morning and she sat still for most of it, then ran around my yard and rolled in the dirt!!! Lol. We cleaned her back up and gave her a good brushing. She loved the attention and wanted to cuddle the whole time. She has met my dog and after a few good sniffs they were both ready to play. No aggression at all. When my cat came down she sniffed at it then hid behind my legs. Thus far she seems to have an easy going personality and is very much a people pleaser. No accidents in the house so far an she was quiet as a mouse in her crate last night. She did well on the leash last night and seems to know sit I will add more in as she settles and I get to know her better.
Update 6/1/2020- Poppy is settling in quickly and figuring out the routine. She loves to play with other dogs but is mostly interested in getting attention from her human companions. She is a velcro dog who just wants to be near you and loves to snuggle. She is learning house rules and has had no accidents in the house. She seems to know sit and we are working on down. She does like to jump up on people if she is not getting enough attention but listens when told off. We are working on only chewing on approved toys but she seems to need reminders of this rule. Very food and praise motivated.
