Anika is a very gentle, loving little gal but can be quite timid and skittish around new people and noises. She is afraid of cars, but walks well in a harness and leash in a quiet environment, and is getting more confident each day. She absolutely loves to play in the backyard, chase squirrels, and is learning to play fetch! Anika loves getting belly rubs, and she returns her compassion by giving lots of kisses. She prefers not to sleep in a crate, but would like to sleep on a dog bed beside your bed. Anika is still figuring out hardwood floors, and will require some kind patience in her new home. With a little time and love, she will come out of her shell and be a wonderful addition to a family. She is dog friendly and does well with small children. Anika and her sibling/companion, Alicia, were surrendered to a high kill shelter in Texas by her owner when they could no longer care for them. Anika arrived to her foster in Virginia on May 29th.
