Piper is a very curious and affection loving almost 2 year old. It takes her some time to warm up to men, but women and especially teenage girls are her best friends from the start. She is great on a leash, and absolutely loves to be outside and explore. She is house and crate trained, although she needs some help getting into her crate at times. Once she's in the crate, she settles down nicely. She was a bit of an escape artist at the beginning, but we haven't seen that recently. She also will chew on things if she gets too bored. The key is lots of toys for her to play with. Speaking of which, she loves to roll around on the floor while she plays with the toy of the moment, while making silly sounds. She’s had no training at all, but with some patience and love will be able to learn a lot. She wants to please and make you happy. She’s been great with our other dogs, holding her own even though they are much bigger than her. She is not food or toy protective. Not great with cats, thinks they should be chased out of the house. She’s smaller than you would expect for a mal mix, a whopping 40 or so pounds. Piper is a very loving and loveable dog that is small but mighty with a ton of energy. She has earned her nickname Hyper Piper. (She did have hookworms, but has received all the necessary treatments for this).
Piper was rescued from Texas. She was cat tested in Texas and it was a little iffy, so no cats would be best. She arrived in VA on April 17th; check back soon for updates from her foster.
