I have to tell you about Clyde. Remember Clyde? Mr. Terrified? Curled up in a ball at the shelter? Tried to hide behind every pillar on the way out of the shelter? Wouldn't come out of his crate at his foster? The dog that had a former owner that couldn't even be bothered to name him? Well. Let me tell you. The breakthroughs have been astonishing. The first one came after his neuter surgery. His TX foster went to pick him up, expecting that he'd be shut down and terrified at being left, but he was FINE and then he was a LOT better at her house... just in time for transport a few days later. It was a sad day. His foster packed him his favorite chew toy and the pillowcase he kept stealing and off he went. And then the trip. Attempting to take him off transport for a potty break resulted in him leaping back into the crate because it seemed he'd rather hold it, but okay.. typical Clyde. Then he arrived in Stephens City and Leah (his amazing VA foster) met up with him. He has made an amazing transformation. From the dog that spent so much time hiding in his crate/behind the TV/ in the corner of the yard... Clyde is now PLAYING and RUNNING AROUND IN THE YARD!. And SITTING ON THE COUCH. And taking training lessons!! And walking on a leash!! He's still going to need an extremely patient family, but he's getting a taste of what a happy home feels like, and Leah is making such HUGE strides with him. <3 He is a very gentle soul who will hide your stuff in his crate, but I bet you will never find a more loyal, loving little pup than this.
