Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog.
Ryder is a young dog (turning 3 in January), who enjoys playing fetch and spending time with humans. She is a Virginia dog who came from the PWC Shelter. She was adopted in March but was recently returned to SSR due to the health of the owner. She is very food motivated and will work for food. She was originally trained to walk correctly on a leash and learn her manners, though they need a bit of touching up since she was returned. Of note, she has a high prey drive and cannot be placed with cats or small dogs. Also, she is a submissive urinator (which means she urinates whenever excited, startled, or thinks she is in trouble), though her foster is hopeful this will subside over time. She is sweet and devoted, though more serious than some of the more affectionate rescue dogs SSR gets. She is medium size, about 60 pounds, and very fast and strong! Has a lot of potential to be an amazing dog!
