Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog.
Tequila was taken from a kill shelter in Texas by another rescue, but then abandoned with no where else to go but back to the kill shelter. Thankfully, some amazing people were able to keep her until she was rescued by SSR. Tequila had a cough and was underweight when she first came to SSR and after recovering, she was transported to her foster in VA. She is a very shy girl who is still adjusting to life with people in a home environment. She is learning the ropes of the house quickly, but is still very fearful of new people and things. She will need patience, love, and training to get her out of her shell. As she is getting more comfortable in her foster home, she has shown herself to be a smart, excitable girl. She'll give awoo, prance around, and be excited to see you. She seems to understand house training and trusts her crate as a safe space. Her foster home has dogs and a cat and she has shown no aggression towards anything. She likes chin scratches and will nuzzle you for more. Tequila has about medium energy, and loves to play with her foster siblings outside in the yard and sleep on the couch inside.
