Meet Acadia! She is a petite 18 month old female with a hidden comical side. Although in the beginning you will find she is timid and shy, as she grows to know you, you'll really get to see her shine. Her excitement to be with you would brighten any dull day! Acadia loves having another dog to help her feel more at home. Because of her timid nature, Acadia would do best in a home with older kids who understand that she is easily startled. Acadia wants a family that is willing to earn her trust and love her for the goofy girl she is. She wants to be loved and has love to give. All she asks for is a little time. She loves to play and run outside. She is housebroken and crate trained. She enjoys treats and playing with toys. Acadia is energetic and would likely be a good running buddy. As for cats, she does best with fully grown, dog savvy cats. I would recommend a slow introduction, controlled and supervised. Overall, it can take a fair amount of time for Acadia to warm up to new people and places, but once she does she just absolutely melts your heart. She will need an experienced owner, someone who can help build her confidence, but must also be confident themself. Her decompression period will take longer than others. Structure, routine, and patience will be necessary for her to feel at home. The reward is what she gives in time. Won't you give her that chance? You'd have a buddy for life. She's something special.
