Hi! I am Lucky and live up to my name thanks to SSR!! I am a happy, affectionate 2 year old looking for my forever home. My foster parents like me a lot and say that I am a “Keeper” but they already have 3 dogs. I do have heartworm but you would never know that! I am seeing a doctor soon to start treatment. I ride very well in the car, like to explore the yard, I correct easily with a verbal “No” or “Huh Uh”. I am house trained and like the resident dogs in my foster home. When outside, I check things out come back quickly for some love and snuggles. I am still gaining my strength, weight, and muscle mass back after a lot of therapy/surgeries for my shattered pelvis. I am gentle and really want to go to a home where I get lots of love and attention!! PLEASE consider me as your new best friend! Lucky was surrendered to a kill shelter in Texas. He had been hit by a car and his family was unable to provide the necessary extensive funds for his treatment and recovery. SSR appealed to their followers and funds were raised to help him to receive vet care. He is also Heartworm positive and will be treated at SSR's expense. He arrived to his foster in North Carolina on January 31st.
