Lara is currently living with her foster mom in Mechanicsville, VA. She is friendly toward new people and will greet you with a wiggle and a kiss. Lara has done exceptionally well with kids. Lara is very affectionate. Initially, she prefers to keep the snuggles all to herself. She does not like other dogs being "in her space." That however will change as she begins to feel more at home. Decompression and slow introduction is key. Once she has settled in, she is happy to share her affection with fur-siblings. Lara can coexist with cats, but the cat should be dog savvy. She's done very well learning to live peacefully with her foster cat siblings. Lara also sports a snazzy alarm system. She is loyal to her people and will gladly sound off if she feels the need. She can be talkative when startled but is quick to settle down again. She is working on basic commands and is learning to appreciate her crate. She prefers not to be there, but if crated in the room with you she is much more content. Lara is not yet perfectly housebroken but with consistent potty breaks she will soon learn the way. Lara is full of energy and would love a family to go on adventures with. Lara would likely make a fantastic running buddy and is great on her leash. She excitedly awaits finding her forever family!
