Have you ever wanted a German Shepherd but don’t want the standard size? Look no further! Meet Riley! We believe that she’s a Basset Hound/GSD mix who is about 2-3 years old and weighs 53 lbs. She was with the rescue in September, adopted out and then returned. I believe she’s a typical shepherd that protects her environment. She definitely needs a strong leader. I’ve introduced her to children and other dogs. She would do best in home with children (5 and up) as she is easily exci table and can jump on them. Riley needs slow introductions with other dogs. So far, she’s doing great with her foster siblings and have had no issues. She’s very affectionate and loves to be pet. She doesn’t seem to have much training so we are working on that. Riley, previously known as Ronnie, was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. She arrived to her foster in Pennsylvania on October 11th and was adopted shortly there after. Ronnie was returned to us in April because she didn't get along with the resident dog. Check back for updates once the foster gets to know her and her temperament a bit more!
