Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog.
Mae was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. She arrived to her foster in Virginia on August 28th. She is a friendly, social, and is doing well with her foster dog sibling and is learning about cats. Mae is fine with dog savvy cats, but is tempted to chase a cat that runs from her. She is easily verbally corrected by a strong pack leader. Mae also is skilled at bowl carrying. She takes her meals where she decides! Mae did have a transmissible venereal tumor when she was saved, but has since been treated for this. Mae has done exceedingly well with kids (18 mos, 5 yrs, and 8yrs). Don't be fooled if at first she seems like the independent type...once she feels at home her soft side starts to shine and she absolutely will melt your heart.
