Stormy was saved from a shelter in Texas after her family fled during a flood, leaving her behind. Neighbors fed her for a year before the county seized her and SSR took her in. During her time outdoors, she become infected with Erlichia, a tick borne disease but she is under treatment. She has lots of little cuts and scabs from being outside so long but is healing nicely and lets you touch her all over. Stormy has forgiven her previous family for leaving her behind and is in full search of a new family to love and cuddle. She actively seeks affection and just wants to be inside near you. She asked politely to go outside to do her business and comes right back inside. She loves a fluffy soft dog bed and likes to nap in her crate. She loves tiny humans and all dogs she has met. She does really like being close to people so she might knock smaller kids over by accident. She is about 20 pounds underweight and loves food. She currently is getting 5-6 small meals a day and may need to continue on that for a while until she regains the weight and muscle mass that she lost. She lets foster Momma take food away from her and lets her handle her all over while she is eating. Because she hasn't had a steady food supply she is protective of her food and toys around other dogs but is getting better by the day. She is showing some weakness in her hips and will be getting x-rays soon. This could be from the tick borne disease or an old injury. Foster Momma will provide an update as soon as possible.
