Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog.
Ruby came from a high kill shelter in Texas. She just arrived in Virginia on March 1st. Ruby is a sweetheart. She is house trained, walks beautifully on a leash (stays right by your hip and doesn’t pull), rides very well in a car, and doesn’t beg at the table. I’ve been taking her into work and she’s has been a perfect work dog. Ruby doesn’t run to the door or bark when anyone comes in. Her only fault is some separation anxiety, as of right now. She bites and paws at the crate when you are gone. She is okay with the crate when you are home. She will eat there and will also go in there to nap sometimes. Ruby has been cat tested and she is good with all sized dogs. Ruby and my dog are fine and she defers to my older, 45 pound Australian Shepherd. She is not an alpha and happy to follow. She takes treats gently too. She’s a big snuggler and happy to chill with you on the couch. She sleeps at night in her big dog bed, but would probably prefer to cuddle on the bed, if allowed. She’s a pretty amazing dog.
