My name is Darcy. I’m three years old, and in perfect health. I’m told that I’m beautiful and that my coat is very soft. I love meeting new people, and do well meeting other dogs when my humans take me for a leashed walk. I’ve met the resident cat and didn't show too much interest in her. I've also met the resident Pomeranian! I'm very interested in him, and I just want to play. But he's an old grump and won't play with me.
I’m crate trained, house trained, and can walk well on a leash! I am non-reactive to other dogs while out walking, even if they are barking at me from a distance.
I’ll do best with a family that has experience with German Shepherds and understands slow adjustment periods. I draw confidence from my handler, so I need an owner who can help me feel safe and confident. My ideal owner will understand that it may take me a few weeks to feel safe in my new home.
I've already gone through extensive obedience training, and will need someone who can continue to work me.
My foster parents work with me every day and say that I have so much potential, and that I'm so smart! I’ll need an owner who is experienced with my breed and understands how to show me that they're the boss!
