Sam is the poster child for Velcro Shepherd! This calm, sweet boy wants to be wherever you are - and is happiest relaxing at your feet. He aims to please, has nice manners and is very obedient; he would never push past an open door or swipe your food. He likes a Netflix marathon, especially his Police shows and watching dog TV shows. He is great on a leash for his short walks. Due to his hips and arthritis Sam needs to take it nice and slow. Sam prefers hanging out, not "playing." And prefers dog friends of the female persuasion. Sam likes his treats so much that he doesn't do well sharing with other dogs. Potty trained? Sam will go to the door to signal he wants to go outside. In the car, he goes right to sleep. At bathtime, he will gladly stand still. He is such a good boy that he can be left out while you leave and he will just take nap. Sam would do best in a quieter home (adults; kids over 13). He is heartworm positive and in treatment. If he is adopted before treatment is completed, SSR will pay for the remaining course of treatment.
