Bonnie, or as SSR and her fosters have nicknamed her “Bon-Bon” might be the sweetest pup you’ve ever met. She gives kisses from the first time she meets you and loves to show you that she’s happy to see you even if she just saw you. Her new home will get a truly gentle and loyal companion.

She crates very well and has yet to have an accident in her crate.  She even has begun to be receptive to going into her crate when asked and needs little to no coaxing.  She seems solidly house trained and has quickly learned that she gets a treat when she goes potty outside.

She has bonded quickly with the other dog at her foster’s house.  They play well and sleep well at night (or a solid afternoon nap) after a go-go-go day.  She does loves her lay down time and would probably prefer cuddling up to her new family over anything else in the world.  She is timid at times when approached or petted and her go to move is to assume the submission position on her tummy, side, or back. When she is in her ‘element’, her natural tendencies to herd and to have a job become very evident.  She will be happiest if her adopters commit to training her and keeping her mind and body active.  She is still a puppy, even if her estimated age is two, so she still will have puppy tendencies like jumping and chewing and need a consistent approach to curbing those habits.

She immediately loved her purple rhino toy and walks around the house with it firmly in her mouth.  She also fetches well and loves the deflated football her fosters throw around with her. Bonnie has taken to training well and already seems to be catching on to sit and lay down and usually comes when called. She doesn’t bark, like ever; she might be the quietest dog her fosters have ever seen.

She’s a bit of grazer when it comes to eating her food but takes on a milk bone with a committed approach.  Her future adopters should know that the foster family is impressed everyday at how well behaved and pleasant mannered her disposition is; she is just an absolute sweetheart. Her stature is smaller with her body resembling Collie more and her face showing the GSD traits.  Her different colored eyes are mesmerizing, and she doesn’t appear to have an aggressive bone in her body.  If you are looking for home protection, she is not the dog for you. She is a lover, not a fighter!

But if you are looking for a well-mannered, tender, kissy, quiet companion who will be a wonderful family dog and can immediately come in and acclimate to a loving environment, Bonnie is absolutely perfect!
