SEPTEMBER 2024: Meet our handsome Max! He needs a new loving family soon. Max is coming back to SSR due to his owner’s declining health. He is around 9 years old with so much love to give. Max is playful, fun and still loves the water. Even though he is a bit older and a tad slower, his original bio below still holds true. This wonderful boy needs someone to help him through his grief of losing the person who has loved him for the past 6 years. Are you ready to welcome Max into your heart and home? MAY 2018: Max is 3 years old and an AKC registered shepherd. This guy has great energy and loves to play! His two favorite activities are playing ball and keep-a-way. He runs like a puppy and sometimes forgets that he isn’t one! Max is also a water bug! This guy loves water, shallow or deep. Bring on the sprinklers and lakes! Max does well with kids and other dogs. He thinks they make amazing friends. Max has been picked on by dogs previously, so he does need some time to warm up to new doggo friends. However, once he knows you are good people, he loves you for life. Max is house trained and does ring a bell to let you know he needs to go outside. He is crate trained and rides beautifully in a car. Max also knows basic commands. Max does love his tennis balls and will gladly play fetch with his dog friends. He is also a vocal dog. He will talk to you when he gets excited! Max has mild hip dysplasia and Spondylosis (decreased joint space on left, cartilage wear in knee joint. On both sides there is cartilage loss on both hips. Widening and remodeling and subluxation on both sides). Both of these can be treated with long term pain management medication. Just don’t tell Max! He has no idea is he should slow down and he has no plans to anytime soon!
