Gather around, children - it’s story time! Everyone sit quietly on your number, criss-cross applesauce, hands in your laps. I have a tale to tell – a tale of bravery, kindness, and love! Once upon a time, there was a fair, gentle, sweet maiden named Mindy. Mindy was most lovely, and a friend to all – cats, dogs, and even kids! Mindy lived in Texas with a very mean man (you could even call him a dragon!), who didn’t love her. He said that Mindy reminded him of a time when he got sick. He wasn’t even interested in her at ALL any more (gasp)! Thankfully, Mindy was rescued by a kind, modern-day knight named Sterling. Sterling took Mindy in and set out to help find her a great home. When the Knights of the Round Table here at SSR found out about Mindy, we immediately reached out to Sterling to see if he would consider giving her to us so that we could help, and he did! Mindy spent three weeks in Texas with one of SSR’s amazing fosters, but her story didn’t end there! She has now made her way to Round Hill, Virginia, where she eagerly awaits her Prince or Princess Charming who will come to adopt her. Mindy is approximately 7 years old, 59 pounds, and has LOTS of love to give. Mindy is the kid of dog who loves to lay around with you, or go on leisurely walks around your neighborhood. She enjoys sleeping in your room at night, in her own bed. Mindy is very gentle with children, and is great with cats and dogs alike. She does well in her crate, and is house trained. Mindy’s temperament would be a good fit for many families – those with small kids, other dogs, or cats. She enjoys just hanging out with her people and loves attention, including belly rubs!
