I’m Abby. For those who don’t know me, I came from a place where my humans locked me outside in a kennel all day. I was scared and lonely. My doggy friend was all I had back then, but because of the neglect we were put through, he didn’t make it. I was so sad. How could my humans do this to us? While I was feeling so defeated, SSR stepped in April 2018 and saved me! Despite how my old humans treated me, I know there were still good people in this world. My foster mom is a great person. She helped nurse me back to health. She told me that my Forever Family would come for me. About 2 months ago a nice lady took a chance on me and I went to live with her in her apartment in the city. Unfortunately, city living just wasn’t for me – too much commotion and scary noises made it too stressful for me. So now I am back with my foster mom in her quiet home in the mountains of Virginia. I’m in Virginia dreaming about my forever home. I am a very sweet gentle lady who deserves a family of my own. I would be fine as an only dog but can get along with other large dogs – my foster mom says I am dog selective. I do interact with my foster’s large dogs in the house and in the yard; we all just do our own thing. I don’t like to play with other dogs so I would not be a good play mate. I seek out the attention and play only with humans. I prefer to be in my own space and definitely need a quiet home without a lot of chaos. Since I’ve been back with my foster mom, I have been wanting to spend more time in the main area of the house with everyone else. I take guarding my foster mom’s house very seriously and can be quite intimidating from the outside. But, once a visitor comes inside I tend to be shy… unless they have bacon. But once the bacon is gone, then I’m gone too. I cannot be around small dogs or any other kind of small animal - no cats.
