Meet Miss Piper! Are you looking for a sweet, smaller and super smart pup? Then Piper is your girl! She has been interacting well with the three other dogs in her foster's house (male and female) and while interested in cats, has been very respectful of their space, and their novelty is wearing off rapidly. She LOVES people and spends a lot of time looking for belly rubs! She walks well and gently on a leash. She’s had a bath and nail trim (drama free!) and while she enjoys food, does not show signs of any food or resource guarding. She is a clever with pills, however, so you may need to be creative to give her medications (Pill Pockets, anyone?) She appears to be housebroken, coming over and bumping my elbow to take her out when she needed to go. She wants to play with my dogs and has taken correction very well. I think she’d be good with a family with older children who can reinforce her manners and boundaries. She knows her life has just improved immensely, and she’s pretty excited about it! She is heartworm positive, but her treatment has begun and I’m happy to discuss that condition with the new family- Get your applications in for Piper soon! I’d love to see her get to her new family and start building her new life as soon as possible. SSR will pay for Piper's heartworm treatment. If she is adopted before treatment is complete, SSR will continue paying for the remaining course of heartworm treatment.
