Leo is a young pup and is already well experienced in life! When he was younger, his first family accidently hit him with their car. Both of his back legs were broken. Being unable to afford the medical care and deal with the recovery period, they took him to an animal shelter and the shelter called us. We agreed to take him into the SSR family. Leo is such a sweet, happy, and laid-back boy. This guy isn’t letting anything slow him down! He has made huge strides in his recovery over the last several weeks and will continue to improve with time. He is still walking with a limp, but we believe with time he should recover beautifully. Leo loves playtime with his doggie friends and would thrive in a home with other dogs around. He has also discovered the beauty of chewy toys, things that crinkle, and bones. Belly rubs are nirvana for this young guy! He does good around dog savy kids and is working on learning his cat manners. Leo is learning some basic commands and does well walking on a leash. Leo is house trained and will signal you with a whine that he needs to go out. He is crate trained and will go in his crate on his own when he wants quiet time. This sweet boy is ready for a family of his own. Please consider adding this great boy to your home! Note from his foster -
Leo is walking and feeling so much better! Im so proud of him. He actually started running (which is more of an adorable gallop) around the yard a couple of days ago. He's getting back in the swing of things and even has his energy back. He is still learning how to sit down properly where there was so much trauma to his back side. So sometimes he looks weird while he's trying to sit, but he's slowly getting there. And after his naps or if he plays too hard he's a little slow at getting up. But other than that he is doing really well.
He has a foster sister and a little puppy foster brother: and Leo absolutely adores both of them!!! I really think he will continue to thrive if he has a dog friend in the house hold. I think having another dog will help him with his continued recovery and he's just that type of dog that needs a dog friend. He also loves to hang out and run around in the yard. Leo has proven to us that he is trustworthy and we have been letting him stay out of the crate while we are gone during the day and he is handling it like a champ! He likes to carry around toys and during downtime hes just layes around in the floor on the dog bed (as you can see in the pics). Oh and Leo loves any type of box... cereal boxes, ziploc boxes, anything of the sort... they all make him SO happy.
Leo is such a big baby now, I've been calling him my Teddy Bear. He is a happy boy no matter what and always has his cute little grin on. His personality is incredible and not to mention... he is so smart, loyal and a big goof ball all in one. I honestly can't say enough about Leo. He's a great pup!
