Hi Everyone! My name is Polar and I am looking for my forever family. I am approximately 4 months old and around 10 lbs. Since I am still a puppy, I have some growing to do but my foster mom thinks that I will probably be a mid-sized dog when I am all grown up! I am currently living in Frederick, MD and reside with a large German shepherd and three children ages 7, 9, and 11. I am very good with dogs and children but have not been around any cats yet. My favorite thing to do is follow my foster mom around the house. Sometimes, I get really excited and try to mouth while I am playing with the kids. My foster family doesn’t like that game very much and is helping me to learn the right way to play and teeth. I will need a family that is patient with me and willing to learn how to correct and redirect this behavior towards a toy. It’s important that my new family invest in my training so that I can become the best boy I can be! I am already off to a good start. I am pretty good at “sit”, “come” and even “down” with some help. I am even working on my table manners and learning to “wait” politely for my food. One thing I need to work on is potty training. Something that has really helped me with this is a consistent potty schedule. I am trying really hard, but I still have a few accidents from time to time. Mom says that’s okay because I am still a puppy. Tomorrow I am going to the doctor to follow up on my health. I came to Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue a pretty sick little boy and although I am improving, I will still require medical visits and monitoring before I am ready to be adopted. If you have any further questions or think I might just be the perfect match for your family, please contact my foster mom at 2foster4love@gmail.com
