Meet Feris, a striking year and a half old, cream colored husky mix.  Feris was surrendered to a shelter in Texas with the only reason given that he was "unwanted".  We have a hard time understanding who wouldn't want this lovely young guy, who is so eager to be a part of a loving family.
In his foster home, Feris has shown himself to be affectionate, amiable, and eager to please. Although he is initially shy of strangers, he does not bark or behave aggressively towards them, and warms up quickly.  He is friendly with the other dogs he has met, solicits play, and has not demonstrated any food or resource guarding.  

Feris will run eagerly into his crate after just about any sort of treat, but will cry for a short time when the food runs out, so he probably would be best suited for a single family home where the neighbors won't have to listen to his protests.  Other than whining in the crate, however, Feris has so far been a very quiet dog in the home, and has very rarely barked.

Feris weighs about 50 pounds now, but he is underweight and will probably be around 65 pounds at a healthy weight.  He LOVES meal time, so he is happy to do his part to put on the pounds!  Feris also loves walks, and will go as long as you like - his leash walking manners could use improvement, but he is very manageable on a harness.   He is mostly housebroken but should be supervised while inside til he's all the way there.

All in all, Feris is a real treasure who deserves to be truly "wanted" by someone.  If you think that might be you, please apply today!
