Learn more about the Catahoula Leopard Dog.
Hey there, Booker here! Popping in to say hello and give you an update. I’ve settled in nicely at my foster’s home. I’m getting along with the resident dog and foster mom says I do fine with cats but I do try to play with them like they are a dog. I’m very well behaved in the house and on the leash, not a puller and completely housebroken. I am crate trained although I will bark if I hear someone moving around the house. I also ride great in the car although that makes me nervous too. When meeting new people I tend to be nervous at first but warm up quickly. Foster mom thinks I wasn’t socialized enough so we’re working on that together and she’s also teaching me cool things like “place” which I heard will help my confidence. When out in public I'm a quiet guy who likes to be petted but once I get home, I like to "yodel" and vocalize to express my happiness. I've done really well at every adoption event I've been to; I was even declared the official greeter at the last one. Are you my forever family that will take me home? If so, file an adoption application today! Booker (originally known as Denver) came to SSR as a puppy from a high kill shelter in Texas and was adopted out mid 2017. He was returned to SSR in October of 2019. Booker's foster would greatly appreciate assistance with supplies as the cost of fostering can really add up!
