ATTENTION: If you are interested in adopting me, please read our FAQ and Adoption Process at www.shenandoahrescue.org Location: Purcellville, VA 7/23/2017: Gunner is a wonderful 7 month old purebred Belgian Malinois. He is crate trained and house trained but still very much a puppy. He is learning manners and basic commands and, true to his breed, he picks things up very quickly. Unfortunately he was born with cataracts in both of his eyes but this doesn’t slow him down one bit. Although vision impaired, he sees very well and loves retrieving his ball. He hasn’t met a person or dog he doesn’t love and gets along with everybody. In fact, he would very much prefer to be placed in a home with at least one other dog to help him along a bit. He does require eye drops every other day and is super good about getting them. He will need an adopter who is willing to continue with his eye care although he has seen an ophthalmologist and it was determined he does not need surgery. Gunner is a very happy, go lucky pup who is going to be an awesome addition to any active family! Due to his age and puppy manners, he will not be placed with kids under 10 years of age. If you are interested, please fill out an application with Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue 6/20/2017: Gunner is six months old and MUST go to a home with Malinois experience. He has small cataracts and is vision impaired. The vet believes it is genetic and will likely have surgery, per the vet’s recommendation. Gunner has a pending appointment with the ophthalmologist to determine removal. Good with other dogs.
